On 25 June 2026, Switzerland-based Gas- und Wassermesserfabrik acquired the pressure management and leakage reduction assets of U.K.-based i2O Water Limited from Mueller Water Products. The deal marks i2O’s second change of ownership in five years. Mueller acquired i2O in June 2021 for approximately US$20 million, with plans to integrate the business into its Sentryx digital platform and introduce i2O’s technology to North America.

i2O’s product suite, spanning dataloggers, pressure-reducing valve controllers, and adaptive optimization software, is deployed across more than 100 water utilities in over 45 countries, though the bulk of its installed base remains in its home U.K. market. The i2O team will join Gas- und Wassermesserfabrik’s U.K. business unit and hardware production will remain at i2O’s Southampton facility. Gas- und Wassermesserfabrik, headquartered in Lucerne with over 125 years of experience (founded 1899), specializes in water meters, measurement technology, and smart water network platforms.
