On 17 April 2026, Badger Meter announced its acquisition of UDlive, a U.K.-based provider of sewer level sensors and analytics software, for US$100 million, expecting to close at the end of April.

Founded in 2017, UDlive generated US$22 million in revenue over the past 12 months, with software solutions representing 14% of sales. Approximately 80% of UDlive’s revenue stems from multiyear framework contracts with U.K. utilities, leveraging established relationships with Anglian Water, Thames Water, Welsh Water, Southern Water, and Wessex Water.

This acquisition augments Badger Meter’s current offerings in sewer level monitoring and analytics, following its acquisition of SmartCover in January 2025. SmartCover provides real-time monitoring solutions for wastewater collection systems in the U.S. Both SmartCover and UDlive were acquired at a premium, with purchase prices reflecting revenue multiples of approximately 5.3x and 4.5x, respectively. These deals together indicate Badger’s confidence in the high-growth smart sewer market, which is driven by regulatory certainty in the U.K. and the broader challenges posed by climate change and aging infrastructure in the U.S.
