In September 2021, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released the latest data on industrial facility counts and employment across the United States. The data indicates that the U.S. added over 29,000 industrial facilities, during which time COVID-19 emerged as a global disruptor and energy prices collapsed. The most recent data shows facilities in 1,947 counties. These facilities employ 5.4 million people.

Bluefield’s quarterly tracking of industrial facilities across 14 select verticals points to key trends in the market that are shaping water management, from supply demand to wastewater management risks. Further, growth in key segments parallels growing interest in water management.
