We compile data on water stress in the U.S. and globally to help our clients understand drought hotspots and regions with water resource challenges.
Bluefield has put together data dashboards on water stress to highlight which geographic areas are facing drought conditions, currently and historically.
This data helps our clients address key questions:
- Which U.S. states beyond California are facing water stress?
- What types of water stress are regions facing, such as drought risk, coastal flood risk, river flood risk, groundwater table decline, and water stress)?
- Which industries face the most water stress, globally?
Who has access to our dashboards on drought and water stress?
All Bluefield Data Navigator seat holders can access our dashboards on drought and water stress as well as other macroeconomic indicators (i.e. economic and financial indicators, residential and industrial construction, equipment and commodity prices, and workforce and climate indicators).
What are the data sources for Bluefield’s climate and water stress dashboards?
Sources for this data include the U.S. Drought Monitor and the World Resources Institute.
Does the data track historical or projected drought data?
Yes, we track both. For historical data, our U.S. Water Stress Dashboard includes data from 2010–2024. Our forecast data tracks three scenarios of U.S. and global water stress (business as usual, optimistic and pessimistic).
