Lauren Balsamo


Lauren Balsamo is an industry Analyst leveraging her experience with water quality monitoring and PFAS contamination. Her research has included in-depth analysis of contaminants of emergent concern, globally, nutrient impacts on surface bodies and treatment facilities, as well as U.S. underground infrastructure (e.g pipe, pumps…etc). Prior to joining Bluefield, Lauren worked with Northeastern University’s Social Science Environmental Health Research Institute PFAS Project Lab, maintaining the PFAS Contamination Site Tracker and impacts on U.S. water systems. She also worked for MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative (ESI) on a range of projects that included the plastic industry analysis to support the launch of ESI’s Plastics & the Environment Program.

Lauren received a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.
