On 22 July 2019, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the receipt of 51 requests for the third round of Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) funding. The loan requests a total of US$6.6 billion for US$13.9 billion worth of water infrastructure projects. The projects requesting funding for water reuse and recycling, wastewater, drinking water, stormwater management, desalination are located in 21 states.
