Research Note

How is the UK addressing leak management? A set of deals in the past month has underlined the attractiveness of the UK’s leakage management market for technology solutions providers. Recent deals include:

  • On 30 August, British energy firm Centrica Plc acquired remote leakage detection firm FlowGem Ltd for £13 million.
  • On 1 September, US-based Water Intelligence Plc acquired UK-based conventional leakage detection firm NRW Utilities Ltd for £575,173.
  • On 26 September UK utility South West Water announced adoption of data analytics software from i20 to monitor pressure-reducing valves on its 15,000- km network.
