Ekopak Falters over Flagship WaaS® Project  

On 13 May, Belgian investment firm Alychlo provided water reuse innovator Ekopak NV with a €14 million capital injection. The funds will resolve Ekopak’s liquidity issues as it develops its flagship Waterkracht project. On 28 April, Belgium’s Financial Services and Markets Authority opened an administrative investigation into Ekopak’s disclosure compliance as a listed company.

EQT Adds Seven Seas Water-as-a-Service® to Growing Water Portfolio 

On 22 May 2025, Swedish private equity firm EQT announced the acquisition of Seven Seas Water Group from Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners. The deal is reportedly valued at over US$1 billion, including debt. EQT has been a leading investor in the water sector since 2017, with other major investments including Innovyze, Saur, and AMCS.

Veolia, CAI Secure High Tech Water Contract 

On 7 May 2025, Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions announced a 16-year contract worth US$550 million to design, build, and operate a water and wastewater treatment facility for a semiconductor fab in the Midwestern U.S.—presumed to be for Intel’s Ohio campus, given the project’s location and size. The facility will utilize advanced treatment technologies such as ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis to support high-volume water reuse, critical to fab operations.
