The city of Pittsburgh has a flooding problem — one that’s worsened in recent years. Heavy rainfall in the area has triggered mudslides and spurred the opening up of sinkholes. It has also led to plenty of property damage and even death, like in the case of a pregnant mother and her son, who were killed when the mother’s car was swept away by floodwaters in 2019.
